This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment for students and staff.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, fixtures, mirrors, floors, and restocking paper products and supplies.
Perform general cleaning throughout the building including classrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, gyms, and entryways.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets across the facility.
Clean glass surfaces, ledges, and common touchpoints to support a healthy environment.
Maintain carpeted areas and entry mats, including spot cleaning and routine vacuuming.
Support school activities and events with room set-up, tear-down, and custodial services as needed.
Monitor building safety and assist with securing the facility at the end of the day.
Manage custodial supplies and maintain cleaning equipment.
Assist with trash removal, light maintenance, and minor facility repairs as needed.
Perform other related duties that support the overall upkeep of the building.
Skills
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and building staff
Ability to maintain confidentiality related to students and staff
Ability to follow assigned custodial schedules and departmental standards
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to safely operate custodial tools, cleaning equipment, and basic power tools used for maintenance and repairs
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and building safety standards
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
Basic knowledge of building maintenance, minor repairs, and general construction practices preferred
Qualifications
Previous custodial, facilities maintenance, or building cleaning experience preferred
Experience with general maintenance, light construction tasks, or building repairs strongly desired
Experience safely operating power tools (such as drills, saws, or maintenance equipment) preferred
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years of age
