What You'll Do

As an Educational Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in a variety of educational settings. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting students with academic instruction in one-on-one and small-group settings.
  • Supporting classroom activities, learning objectives, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Encouraging positive behaviors and helping students develop social-emotional skills.
  • Monitoring, redirecting, and reinforcing appropriate student behavior.
  • Assisting students with daily living skills and personal care needs when required.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to create engaging and successful learning experiences.
  • Helping students build confidence, independence, and lifelong skills.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet Minnesota Highly Qualified requirements through one of the following:

  • Associate's Degree (AA)
  • Completion of 60 post-secondary credits
  • A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaEducator assessment
  • Equivalent training, coursework, and experience as approved by the Minnesota Department of Education

Compensation & Benefits

Starting wage: $22.82–$23.98 per hour
